Our Approach
Collaborative
Working collaboratively with nonprofits, We focus on delivering meaningful impact across various dimensions, including programming, coaching, behavioral assessment, trainings, Health promotional strategies. By aligning with their mission and understanding their unique challenges, I help design and implement effective solutions that resonate with their communities. My expertise in behavioral assessment allows me to provide insights that refine service delivery and enhance program outcomes. Additionally, I optimize operational processes to ensure that nonprofits run efficiently, allowing them to focus more resources on their core mission and achieve sustainable growth.
Iterative.
I employ an iterative approach that emphasizes continuous improvement and adaptability. This method involves regularly assessing the effectiveness of programs, fundraising strategies, and operational processes, and making data-driven adjustments to optimize outcomes. By embracing an iterative cycle of planning, action, evaluation, and refinement, I ensure that each initiative remains aligned with the nonprofit’s goals and responds effectively to changing circumstances or new insights. This approach not only fosters innovation but also helps nonprofits stay agile and resilient, enabling them to maximize their impact over time and achieve long-term success.
About EK Associates
EK Associates was founded by Kevin Williams, a professional with 22 years of experience working with communities of color in the public health, non-profit, for-profit, and consulting sectors. Throughout his career, Kevin has held nearly every position, from volunteer to executive management, within organizations dedicated to serving individuals disproportionately affected by systemic inequities. He has championed policy reforms across various sectors, developing deep knowledge and expertise in health equity. Kevin envisions supporting BIPOC communities in reclaiming their pluralistic narratives of ancestral and lived experiences. He sets the stage for future discussions by highlighting what is not immediately visible on paper and connecting it with critical work inequality, racial justice, and inclusion to address healthcare disparities stemming from structural inequities.
Kevin's dedication to community mobilization through public health stems from a calling he answered—not for his own risk of HIV, but for his younger brothers. At 12 years old, in Seattle, he recognized the need to educate and protect his siblings from the threats faced by Black communities. He observed how systems that provided prosperity to white communities created obstacles for people of color and resolved to prevent these pitfalls from affecting his loved ones. This intuition has guided him for three decades, even as he faced the systemic challenges designed to harm his community. Kevin acknowledges the persistence of oppressive forces and the limited progress despite recognition, disclosure, and discussion. He believes that the brutality of those wielding the power of oppression must be eradicated.
Kevin hopes this narrative breaks the conventions of traditional biography etiquette, just as he sees coalitions working to challenge HIV criminalization, gender nonconformity, misogyny, transphobia, racial inequities, reparations, authentic American sovereignty, and other forms of supremacy. He believes in the privilege of empowerment, not just empathy.
Trainings
We create and facilitate training sessions that focus on enhancing health and wellbeing that are designed to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to make a meaningful impact on those they serve. These sessions delve into evidence-based practices and innovative approaches that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellness. By exploring topics such as stress management, nutrition, exercise, mental health awareness, and holistic care, these trainings empower program leaders and staff to better support the diverse needs of their communities
Our Work
Assessments
Offering comprehensive Needs Assessments and Landscape Needs Assessments, We provide tailored guidance and recommendations to help you better understand and serve vulnerable and misunderstood communities, such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and those socially disadvantaged by systemic inequities.
