Our Approach

Collaborative

Working collaboratively with nonprofits, We focus on delivering meaningful impact across various dimensions, including programming, coaching, behavioral assessment, trainings, Health promotional strategies. By aligning with their mission and understanding their unique challenges, I help design and implement effective solutions that resonate with their communities. My expertise in behavioral assessment allows me to provide insights that refine service delivery and enhance program outcomes. Additionally, I optimize operational processes to ensure that nonprofits run efficiently, allowing them to focus more resources on their core mission and achieve sustainable growth.

Iterative.

I employ an iterative approach that emphasizes continuous improvement and adaptability. This method involves regularly assessing the effectiveness of programs, fundraising strategies, and operational processes, and making data-driven adjustments to optimize outcomes. By embracing an iterative cycle of planning, action, evaluation, and refinement, I ensure that each initiative remains aligned with the nonprofit’s goals and responds effectively to changing circumstances or new insights. This approach not only fosters innovation but also helps nonprofits stay agile and resilient, enabling them to maximize their impact over time and achieve long-term success.

About us

EK Associates was founded by Kevin Williams, a seasoned professional with 22 years of experience working with communities of color across the public health, non-profit, for-profit, and consulting sectors. Kevin has held roles at every level, from volunteer positions to executive management, within organizations dedicated to supporting individuals disproportionately affected by systemic inequities. Throughout his career, he has championed policy reforms, gaining extensive knowledge and expertise in health equity. His vision is to empower BIPOC communities to reclaim their diverse ancestral and lived experiences, fostering meaningful conversations about equality, racial justice, and inclusion in addressing healthcare disparities resulting from structural barriers.

Kevin's dedication to community mobilization through public health has been a personal calling, driven not by his own risk of HIV but by his commitment to protecting his younger brothers. As a 12-year-old in Seattle, he realized there was no guarantee that the twins he helped raise with his mother and grandparents would be educated about the emerging threat to their Black bodies. Observing how systems designed to provide prosperity to white communities often created obstacles for people of color, Kevin was determined to prevent such injustices from impacting his family. This intuition has guided him for three decades, even as he has confronted the systemic barriers designed to create hardships for his community.

Kevin is unwavering in his belief that the forces of oppression and inequity must be dismantled. Despite the challenges, he remains committed to advocating for transformative change. EK Associates aligns with his mission to break traditional norms and foster coalitions that address a broad spectrum of social justice issues, including HIV criminalization, gender nonconformity, misogyny, transphobia, racial inequities, reparations, and all other forms of systemic injustice. Their focus is on empowering communities rather than merely offering empathy.

Our Work

Assessments

Offering comprehensive Needs Assessments and Landscape Needs Assessments, We provide tailored guidance and recommendations to help you better understand and serve vulnerable and misunderstood communities, such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and those socially disadvantaged by systemic inequities. These assessments are designed to enhance your organization's ability to develop effective programming, refine marketing strategies, and improve retention efforts.

By addressing the unique challenges faced by these communities, we aim to empower your organization to create more inclusive and impactful services that resonate with those who have historically been marginalized and overlooked.

Programming

Our services  provide critical insights and recommendations that directly inform the creation of program curricula tailored to the needs of vulnerable and misunderstood communities, such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and those disadvantaged by systemic inequities. The coaching and training sessions we offer further ensure that program leaders are equipped with the skills and knowledge to implement these curricula effectively, with a strong focus on enhancing health and wellbeing. This iterative approach to curriculum development ensures that programs remain adaptive, continuously improving in response to the evolving needs of the communities they serve, ultimately leading to more successful outcomes and lasting positive impact.
